Power converters are used to raise or lower the voltage of the baterry from one indication to another.
Power converters are selected based on:
1. The input voltage (which is the voltage of the supply or battery)
2. The output voltage (which is the operating voltage of the device we want to use)
3. The electrical power of the device we want to operate
The electrical power of the converter must be greater than the electrical power of our device.
Applications of converters are found in buses, cars, canteens, photovoltaics etc., where we need to power a device with a specific operating voltage but the battery in the vehicle has a different voltage. Example: LED Display that requires 5V power supply voltage in a bus that has a 24V supply.
